I'll admit it...I'm a HP geek. I just finished the 7th and final book. What I have to say is...
Thank you J.K. Rowling. Thank you for the weeks of reading and rereading your books. Thank you for the unbelievable details in your descriptive other world. Thank you for Horcruxes, Looney Lovegood and other funny words like snogging. But I'm most thankful for the ability to go into another world and get away from mine for a while!! Thanks to my husband who watched the kids today. And to my ward for not judging me for skipping Sacrament Meeting today to read. Again that goes, "Judge not, lest ye be judged."
Who needs a luxury vacation when there's Jim Thorpe, PA?
Our trip in the Pocono Mountains started off at Beltsville Lake.
We rented a pretty high-powered boat complete with luxury furnishings.
We cruised the lake and took in the beauty all the while going 10mph.
Camping was awesome. Tyler and Lexi were absolutely adorable to watch. Cyd and Phil kept us laughing with their high class humor and Austin and Chase were cute but thrown into pack-n-plays for wanting to dive into the fire. That's campin.
We proved ourselves to be true outdoorsmen while on our extreme hike. The umbrella stroller didn't skip a beat...We did spy a beautifully serene water fall and climbed to the top...Austin's death wish became evident when he tried Peter Panning off the edge...TWICE. Anyone got a harness for this kid?
Hotel life suited us just the same. The staff didn't know what was about to hit their complimentary cookie jar nor the hallway runners.
Phil's annual Hill Family Reunion was an absolute hoot. The reunion was well organized and full of fun games for the kids, but between the unknown gender of the boy/girl and the kids toy auction...our sides were splitting. I still think someone threw away Lexi's tickets for that Elephant. CYD??
The ride on the Reading Railroad was a nice little treat. It took us through gorgeous scenery and was very informative. We've got to go back when Santa is there.
Needless to say it was an awesome vacation with the perfect people! Just don't play Settlers with Phil...it gets to his head. P.S. I let you win 'cause I felt bad about the new bald spot on your leg. Hope it heals well...wuss.
I am thankful for Jim Thorpe and all it's beauty and witch stores. Can't wait to do it again!
The Jersey Shore had it's sites but nothing is better than a couple of extremely white hotties hittin the sand.
Little Austin had never been to the beach...so says his mom about four times when I met her. Our favorite red head was also visiting. So we showed Aunt Jodi, Austin and Cousin Tyler the sites and sounds of Spring Lake, NJ.
Well count us out. We are headed to Jim Thorpe, PA for a little campin and family time! I'm sure I'll have stories of Austin trying to jump in the fire and Lexi eaten alive by bugs....
Meet Lindy. She lives on Nassau Street in the center of Princeton. Maybe it's just name association, but she looks just like a Lindy we know. Guess we'll never know.
This little one has been my savior from insanity. Thank goodness we had her first! Mom's had a hard time making it through so thankfully she's got the Little Lou to get her going. Sometimes I think she looks at me like, "Give me some room here..."
Swinging Contests....my arms and stomach muscles will never be the same. The contest between Travis and Matt was a close one...and Kristin and I just laughed too hard. What I want to know is why Kristin looks so pleasant and smiley and I look like a complete lunatic.
Not that there is anything wrong with lunatics.
Speaking of lunatics... Matt wowed us with his mad balancing skills.
Please notice no pictures of the kids playing on the toddler playground.
You get a new respect for nature when you see a grown man fold in half.
