A few nights back we had some buddies, Mason and the Ollivater, come over for a sleepover extravaganza. Just so you know...I was informed his name isn't Ollivater but he wouldn't tell me his "real" name.
Proof that I force TV on them.
Time for a "nature walk." A sure remedy for cabin fever.
Here is a play by play.
A few trillion puddles we stomped. Thank goodness for the invention-rubber boot.
Captain Mason didn't make it out of the house with his hat. Queen Lexi made it ten steps until she shed her crown. Kudos to Captain Ollie for hanging in there with his hat. Don't you stress, my crown stayed on the entire trip, too.
The big kids blew the tiny one away with their longs legs. "Hey duys. Hey duys. Dait for me," but there was no hope.
Then came the highly educational explanation of "Why Leaves Change colors." I personally think I handled it well with, "Cause they like to change into their favorite color."
Bring on the collection of treasure.
Was there fighting over treasures? You better believe it. Was there threats given? You can bet on it.
The proud hunters with their prizes.
Where did they put their hard earned trophies, you ask? In a heap. I repeat.
While Baby Chase was at the ER last night, Tyler came to our house for a quick partay. That's right, parTAY.
After painting pumpkins, hot chocolate and watching the part where Optimus Prime debuts...these kids were in heaven. I should have slipped some Benedryl in their cocoa. They had a major case of the giggles. Meaning there was a lot of, "If you don't..." followed by an empty threat.
Little Miss made her bed for the first time. Pride would be an understatment. Plus she dressed herself. yikes.
Since there hasn't been a post in a little while, I thought I would add a quick one. And by quick, I mean stupid. I am, and will always be, obsessed with the toys and cartoons of my youth. So, with the release of the Transformers movie on DVD (highly recommended), I present my family as Transformers:
Bonus points for my fellow geeks who can identify which transformers we are.
Well, that's what the lady thought when she asked me at church. She was wrong.
Would you say we started October off with talks of a new baby? Then you would be correct. We had little Brayden join us on Thursday. He is 8 lbs of pure fun and sleepin and poopin and eatin and...
He'll be here for a short time...some mom and dad that have been sitting on a list for years are finally going to have their dream come true, and their bonus...he's super cute.
Oh, and I wore a nice, too small skirt to church the next week to show that lady that I'm just pleasantly plump, nothing else.
In mid Sept. I finished a puzzle. 1500 pieces mind you and thanks to Sister Spilker my brain is forever seeing legumes.
Lexer got in on the Puzzlemania
It's "Foinut", right Ash?
I hit the streets of Rhode Island with my favorite lady. Momma Dunlop. Lexi took a turn at the camera.
There was a whole lot of dressing up in the same clothes I used to dress up in. Some...I still fit in, barely. Lexi chose to wear this little red number pretty much everyday.
Rhode Island's #1 yard-love being there. The house in one word? Serene. Grandma was guiding Lex to a green thumb way of life.
I was able to go to the temple for the first time since before I was pregnant. We are talking years here people. The Boston temple-a sight for sore eyes or hearts.
Next stop...Lexi Lou's Fifth Birthday Week. The fun never ended.
Grandma doesn't have "Birthday" signs in stock...so these sufficed. I figure...what she doesn't know...
What can make a birthday even more special, you ask? Sitting in the car for 4 hours. We drove back to the armpit of America/The Garden State, you choose. I twisted Grandma Joyce's arm to come home with me. We made it special by saying things like, "Look Lexi. Those are birthday balloons for you!"-to the weather balloons and "A Birthday Elf!" to the Keebler Elf on the side of a truck. We hit the "blue playground" park for a family party.
Giggle Gear Walkie Talkies...pretty much hilarious on a boy.
We hit the Philadelphia Zoo with a friend/one of Jakey boy's nurses. Miss Freakin Fanelli. What a hoot. You can pretty much guarantee there was a lot of animal calling. The only person who got in trouble was Grandma Joyce. A gorilla tried to slap her in the face. Thank goodness for five inch thick glass. They were doing a documentary on the three tiger cubs that were born three months ago. We happened to be standing there while they were interviewing and feeding the little ones. Big momma came over and stole the show. It was still a once in a lifetime thing! How often have you been 5 feet from 4 tigers?
Cydney, cobra snake charmer.
Yes, that is a camel.
Couple of things...recently my sister, mother and brother-in-law posted some sensitive information of my recreational life. Aka..I like to dress up. I've vowed revenge. At this point I will be burning Phil. Last week he decided to punch a hole through the ceiling in his newly finished kitchen. He re-created the scene for us at our house and Travis, the genius he is, caught it.
Last on the list...the birthday party of the century. Le Doble. Tyler and Lexi's Pirate/TinkerBelle Party. 11 kids. 6 sets of wings, 5 eye patches.
One treasure chest pinata, one sweet scavenger hunt, and two cakes later....this party is marked as a complete success.
