What's happenin?

Bringing our Teeny One Home

Most people have blow up Flamingos named Minnie waiting.

Miss Lucy was small and got even smaller her first week. She lost a few ounces and her doctor set her a goal of gaining an ounce a day. She has surpassed that and is now filling out quite nicely! I wouldn't call her porky just yet, but we can only hope. She also couldn't hold her body temperature up on her own. She was cold all the time so she was bundled up like we lived in Antarctica.

She is now only wearing one hat and one blanket instead of multiple.

See all the success??

She is also wearing skirts now.
My friend Kristin created this little number for her (including a match for Lexi).

Ok, just this one, plus she's wearing it over warm clothes.
It was Memorial Day.
Anything goes on Memorial Day.

She's decided to start experimenting with hairstyles.

Then she remembered she was practically bald.

Yet cute.

My mommsy and popsicle left today.

I can't thank them both enough for EVERYTHING.
Miss your guts already.

Next post - our adventures with them, the Barnos, Aunt Jack and Uncle Dougalsworth.

Lucy and Lexi

She sporting a doll?

No, Just a tiny baby.

Lucy has two mortal enemies.

Her hands.
That middle finger went right up in there, didnt' it?

I choose to end our post in honor of my nephew Luke's 5th birthday.

Wicked Hard Core

We were sent to the city yesterday for Mother's Day/birthday/thanks for coming to help.
A little dream awaited us.

We were pretty excited.
We even pulled the total tourist pose.
It just needed to be done.

Yes we had a gentleman sing us, "Ain't too proud to beg" on the subway.
He had rhythm but only one tooth.
We hit the tourist shops pretty hard looking for a little something.
Got ripped off by a street vendor.
Ate the hottest garlic bread ever.
It is still sticking with me.
Saw an amazing show,
then raced home to see my tiny girls.

You rule Trav.

Identical Twins

Simply born 2 1/2 months apart, yet it's like they have the exact same DNA.

Cyd, your baby makes my baby look fake, and slightly like a carrot.

Lucy: an exhibit

Believe it or not going to the doctor to get checked out and him saying "You are in labor, go straight to the hospital," really happens. It can also happen two and a half weeks early. So keep up the hope ladies. It happens, and when it does.
It's good.

I am so excited to announce the arrival of Miss Lucy Meyerson!!!

Born May 12,2009 5:56 pm
5lbs. 11 oz.
18 1/2 inches

other stats?
slight strawberry blond hair
blacker than black eyes
wears a shirt upside down for pants
has abnormally strong legs

Big sis?
Loves her to pieces.
Sings her made up songs about sisters.

Dad?
Super Proud Papa
Baby Hog
Mom?
She's not pregnant anymore.
She can breathe again.
Loves her new tiny one.
My sister Cyd saved the day since The Luce came early. This is what having three kids and a baby, a contractor at the house and many other things to do in one day. One of those things included scrubbing the children after drawing all over each other. Super fun. This is how she looked afterward.

My mom dropped what she was doing (including the last week of teaching seminary) and flew up. She is the best!

My dear friend drove hours just to see us for minutes.
Thanks for everything, Finn! Miss your guts.

My overall experience with Lucy?
A complete and total success.
We love her to pieces and can't believe she is already here.
I also love...18 days early.

I love 6

So far I'm in love with six.

This age brings Lex:

independence
happiness
Kindergarten
self confidence
understanding that a mom can be a beast and there is a REASON for it
extreme love for her parents
doing real chores
loves entertaining little kids

First ballet

Entertaining Chaser
This age brings me:

happiness
joy
relaxation
less chores
more time having fun rather than being on "mom duty"
less time entertaining little kids
doing stuff with her that I like to do ALSO

basically more of this...

Lexi pretty much rules these days.
Except when she doesn't.

CopyCat

Sorry Jack.
I need to use this too.
It's just too precious to not share with the whole world.
Welcome back 1985.

Some fancy collar work, mom.
Super fancy.
