Tornado Watch vs. Tornado Warning

I just hit Alabama so hard it didn't even know what hit it.

Lexi and I went down south to Bama to help move my parents into their new abode. My goal was to lose all the boxes. My goal was not met but I can't say we didn't try. I can say that the back deck is now a used box graveyard. Unpacking is like Christmas. My parents new house is amazing. They still aren't sold on it but I see the great potential. The people there are super nice...almost too nice, I don't trust em. The lady at Target kept callin me "baby." If I was a true Jersey girl I'd start to wonder, however I am not a true blue Jersey cow just yet.

The weather was very enjoyable, for a girl who's been cold since late September. It was so warm there...who needs Florida?! My favorite was the day of the thunderstorm and the gulleywashers. That's the day Lex spent two hours in the basement while my mom and I rushed up and down the stairs whilst listening to the "get to a safe place, the big one's a comin" on the news. Gotta love Tornado alley. Lexi watched Hercules and knew none of the fear in our souls. There was one point where my mom is brought to tears with laughter when I heard a huge rumble of thunder and proclaimed, "THIS IS IT!! SHUT THE DOOR BEHIND YOU" and I took off running. Laugh it up sister.

Speaking of sister. My sister Jackie joined us later in the week and slaved right along with us. It was a hoot being with her. My parents took us around our old stomping ground from when we lived there 21 years ago. Jack will have pictures to post, I'm sure. I can't believe I didn't get my camera out once.

It was a true treasure to go and be with my parents. We worked our tails off. Lexi was amazing and I thought my parents enjoyed us being there but I had to rethink that when I asked my dad how he was once I arrived home and he said,

"Fine now. The slave driver is gone."

THAT'S appreciation.

Will you and Jackie come help US move? We don't have tornadoes to keep things interesting, but California has been known to have an earthquake or two...

Also, could you ask your mom to send us all those empty boxes? We need them. Thanks.
